Gary Vee On Regret

Spend A Day In A Retirement Home

Gary says that we have so much opportunity at our disposal, that we don’t even realize it.

He recommends for young people to spend some time in a retirement home.

It’s kind of a weird thing that’s off the beaten path.

He tells you to go talk to five 90 year olds.

But why would he recommend you do this?

Because they’re all going to be saying the same thing. They’re going to be telling you about all of the things in life that they regret, not doing.

They’ll tell you all of the things they wish they did when they were younger, but there was no time.

Gary Vee says that you have to hustle.

If you don’t go out there and make things happen, nothing is going to change for the better in your life.

You can sit around all day thinking about how you wish things were different, but if you don’t make them different, they’ll always stay the same.

Gary says that you probably know 100 people who are dissatisfied with their life, but they don’t do anything to change it.

Don’t be that person. Don’t let your life get the best of you and keep you down in that same place for years on end.

Go out there and make something of yourself.

This is super generic advice – but it’s real and it’s true and it’s honest.

Gary worked his entire 20’s for his Dad’s liquor store, but he doesn’t regret this. He understands that you have to put in the work to get the results in life.

This isn’t endorsed by Gary Vee (just yet), but if you haven’t already, go sign up for our daily motivational text message.

You’re Wasting Your Time

Gary Vee talks to a lot of people.

How many hours a day do you watch Netflix?

How many nights a week do you go out?

He is even a little older himself, and he’s getting to a point where he even wishes that he was younger.

Gary frequently says that people are spending too much time watching the latest season of “Lost” and complain about how they’re not making it in life.

Gary has a huge problem with people like this. That complain but don’t do anything to change it. Do you know anyone like this in your life?

How many hours a day do you waste? Like truly waste on stuff that doesn’t matter?

You probably only work a few hours a day if you’re being honest to yourself. Most people just end up lying to themselves and they continue in their negative cycles of life. The best way to break free of this is to first acknowlege it. Only then can you make changes to break the cycle.

The time to take action is now.

Are you going to regret anything when you’re older?

Gary Vee says that everyone should take five minutes and write down all the things they’re going to regret in their life.

This is another super weird piece of advice, but it’s actually really helpful for people to think about this stuff.

You need to make sure that you’re not wasting your time or you’ll end up like the 90 year olds that Gary talks about.

It’s important for you to think about all of the things you do right now and how they affect your future.

And don’t worry about procrastination, it’s 100% natural. Check out some things to do when procrastination does show itself.

Gary Vee is unapologetically himself.

He swears, and people give him a super hard time about it. And he doesn’t care.

He even said that he lost a $5 Million dollar account because some executive didn’t like that he cursed.

Gary doesn’t care. Try to embody this mentality from Gary and you’ll go far.

Gary doesn’t dwell on his mistakes either. He’s somehow able to learn from them and move on.

You should check out Gary Vee’s YouTube channel. He’s got some really great stuff on there that will help motivate you to take action in your own life.

He’ll tell you like it is, and sometimes he’ll be talking about stuff you probably never thought of. But it’s important for young people to listen to someone older who has been there before.

Here’s his YouTube channel.

Go crush it today.
