Don’t Go To College, It’s 2022

America has changed.

Have you?

Historically our parents attended universities, got one job that they worked for the next 40 years and retired.

Now, millions of students are taking on tremendous amounts of debt, and have nothing to show for it.

Is a social sciences degree from Connecticut College where you leave $200,000 in debt over 4 years really worth it?

We need to stop doing what our parents told us to do, and instead do what is right for us.

Don’t Start Your Life With Debt

Most private universities cost students $50,000 plus each year to attend. This includes classes, dorm, books, etc.

Why are we encouraged at such a young age to take on so much debt that we can’t pay off?

I think if you are going to be a doctor or a lawyer, then and only then, you will need to go to school.

But if you’re entrepreneurial in nature, then why would you follow this path?

Get ahead of the other 95% of people out there that are going to make the mistake of going to college.

Billionaires like Peter Thiel, will actually pay you – not to attend college.

Elon Musk says that he doesn’t care if his employees have a college degree or not.

Work For Free, In Your Preferred Industry

The most difficult thing to do if you don’t want to follow the traditional path is to find work.

How can you get a first job, if you don’t have any direct experience?

You need to find someone who’s willing to take a chance on you. This is honestly mostly going to be a numbers game.

If you’re into technology, intern at a software company.

If you’re into music, intern for a local music producer.

The key here is to have initiative and to do something in your preferred industry.

Instead, Build or Buy A Business

Here’s what I’m going to recommend.

If you’ve got some cash, consider buying a small company and building it up.

There are a bunch of websites out there now where you can purchase a small SaaS based website for a few thousand dollars that already has some recurring revenue.

If you don’t have any money, that’s totally fine too.

Take it from someone who’s done it – I was able to make a bunch of cash via an Amazon FBA business

Granted this was after college, but initiative is what took me there.

You’re going to have to learn how to build on your own.

What I’m trying to get across if that you don’t have to work some bullshit “Account Representative” job at some random marketing firm making $45,000 per year because you think that’s what you have to do.

There are some great free courses out there now on how to use WordPress, Shopify, and other platforms.

The key is to take action on your own time outside of college or before college.

Learn how to build your brand online.

Social media is free! And if you’re a millenial, then you’re already using it daily.

You just haven’t learned how to monetize it yet.

If you have a computer, a cell phone and reliable internet – you can run a million dollar company just from that.

Make sure that you’re doing it for the right reason.

Are you an entrepreneur or a wantrepreneur?

Figure out which one you are and go from there.

We’re rooting for you over here.
